It’s always good to know where you stand. Is your school district respected, beloved, and held in high esteem? Or do staff, students, parents, and patrons simply tolerate you?
If you don’t know where you stand, it’s hard to have a plan of action that will move the district forward. Remember, when it comes to your constituents, perception is reality.
You should be measuring patron perception on a regular basis by asking them to grade various factors, like “quality of education,” “preparation of students for college or careers,” and “value received for the tax dollars spent.” You also should be asking patrons to identify perceived strengths and areas of improvement for the district, which will give you valuable input and let you hear the “voice of the customer.”
A great way to measure where you stand is through an annual State-of-the-District Survey. Check out an example from one of our clients. Then, if you want to learn more, contact Rick Nobles at 913-484-0920 or rick@excellencek12.com.
